Where The Bike Takes Me

Continuing this journey of cycling in efforts to get into shape, lose weight, enjoy the outdoors, and save my knees from their arthritic state at 28 years of age.

About April 24, 2007

This is like one of those “Tell me about yourself” requests.  That is the WORST interview question EVER. I’m a 20-something female professional in the DC Metro area.  I’d say that labels me nicely.

  1. Darren Alff Says:

My name is Darren Alff and I am the owner/creator of the website at http://www.bicycletouringpro.com.

The reason I’m contacting you is because I know you run a website about bicycling and I have some information I thought you might find of interest.

In just over two weeks, I am going to be hosting a huge event on my website where some of the biggest names in the bicycle industry will be contributing content to what I am calling a “Bicycle Lifestyle Web Event.”

The event is titled, “Bicycle Travel As A Modern Lifestyle Choice,” and will take place on the weekend of November 22nd and 23rd. It will feature a jam-packed schedule of articles, interviews, videos, and live Q&A sessions having to do with bicycle travel, commuting, and lifestyle design. The event is aimed at anyone interested in learning how to use a bicycle to change the way they live, work and travel.

Here are some of the people/companies involved:

    – The Adventure Cycling Association
    – Author, Joe Kurmaskie (The Metal Cowboy )
    – BikeCommuters.com
    – Bike Friday
    – Canadian Best Selling Author, Ted Schredd
    – CrazyGuyOnABike.com
    – CycleAware
    – Entrepreneur, Yaro Starak
    – Momentum Magazine
    – Road ID
    – WarmShowers.org
    – Writer and World traveler, Chris Guillebeau
    – Yakkay

I’ve attached a press release about the event, just in case you want more information. You can also read more about the event here: http://bicycletouringpro.com/blog/mark-your-calendar-the-bicycle-lifestyle-web-event-is-fast-approaching/

    But why should you care?

The reason I’m contacting you is to see if this is something you might want to discuss and/or share on your website. If you have readers who are interested in this sort of thing, I would appreciate you helping to spread the word. If it’s not something you or your readers would be interested in, then don’t worry about it. No problem.

That being said, it’s going to be an exciting event and I hope you will be a part of it. If you have any questions or you’d like more information, please don’t hesitate to email me back.

Thank you for your time… and have a great week!

    Darren Alff
